Sapergia Family

-Our Family
Cody and Lorie met in 1988 when Lorie was a youth rider taking lessons from Cody’s mother Molly.  They dated for 5 years before getting married in 1993. Together they worked with Cody’s family, training and showing reining horses.  During these years they were able to travel overseas to train horses.  Their adventures took them to Italy, Hungary, Switzerland and Germany.  In 1997 Cody and Lorie had their son Shay Sapergia. In 2009 Shay will already be 13 years old!  Cody and his family enjoy spending their extracurricular time going to the gym, watching movies, cooking and gathering with friends.  They look forward to their summer and Christmas vacations each year.

 

-Cody
NRHA Professional Cody Sapergia has been training and showing Reining Horses since 2000.  Cody’s focus is based on training and showing horses for Open competition in the aged events such as NRHA Futurities, NRHA Derbies and CRI shows.
Cody started his career in Canada where he won more than 25 NRHA Bronze and Pewter trophies before relocating to Oklahoma in 2005.  Most recently Cody has made a name for himself as one of the Reining Industries leading Open Riders with earnings over $675,000.  In 2007 Cody was 2nd and in 2008 he was 3rd at the prestigious NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City. 

 

-Lorie
Lorie is in her third year of University, studying to become a Certified Public Accountant. While in school Lorie works part time at Brimer, Butler and Verner CPA- based in Ardmore OK.  Lorie is enjoying her job and is learning so much from the partners at the firm.  Her goal is to be able to assist people in the Equine Industry to help them run their businesses and make wiser decisions. Lorie also enjoys managing Cody Sapergia Reining Horses.  Her time is spent keeping operations running smoothly, organizing Cody and his customers for the upcoming horse shows and visiting with clients.  Lorie has stepped out of the show ring since 2001 but it looking forward to showing again soon in the Non Pro.

 

-Shay

Shay is in 7th grade and loves anything and everything to do with computers.  His goal is to be a computer programmer and run his own company.  Shay spends his extra time skateboarding, playing video games and on track and field events.  He enjoys traveling to Canada for spring break and summers to visit family and friends.
